STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Science. There is NO other hobby that embodies STEM better than amateur radio. There's something for everyone.
As last year, Vicki will bring several hands-on STEM experiments for kids of all ages to handle, operate and learn about. And YES we will be launching another pico-balloon! Of course, weather permitting.
Last year pico-balloon AD3i-1 made 2 complete circumnavigations around the globe. On its 3rd attempt it floated north between Iceland and Sweden and ended in the Arctic region. With no sunlight (a result of the earth's tilt) it was unable to have sufficient power to 'call home'. Remember, it's not unheard of for these super-pressure balloons to reappear after months of silence.
